Growing Belly and Books

As of yesterday, I am 29 weeks preggo. Each week Eric takes a picture of my profile in the same place so in the end I’ll be making a little collage of how baby Emma is growing.

Less than 3 months away! I don’t want to jinx myself, but this pregnancy hasn’t been too bad. I mean, there were those first few months in the first trimester with the “morning” sickness and constantly tired. The second trimester went much better, feeling great and not tired all the time. That’s also when we found out we were having a girl. And she started kicking.

And this trimester just started. But my belly is slowly getting bigger and bigger. And it’s winter. An awful winter. I mean, today’s high was -12 with windchills in the -20’s. At least it wasn’t snowing. When I leave for work in the morning, it will be -15 with an estimated windchill of -34. Brrrrr. But there is 2 to 3 feet of snow on the ground. Lucky me, though, I have an excuse not to shovel this winter. 😉 My winter coat barely zips up these days, so today when I went out I put a lighter jacket on underneath that does zip up and my winter coat on the outside without zipping it.

My innie belly button is starting to become an outie. Every other time I blow my nose there seems to be some blood. And I’ve been blowing it a lot because of this cold weather. I’ve always been a “belly, back, both sides” sleeper, but with a baby in there, I can’t sleep on my back or belly. And it’s harder to flip sides the bigger she gets. And I usually have to get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom. I haven’t really had any cravings and haven’t gained too much extra weight.

According to my app, she is about 15″ long and 2.5 pounds. She’ll be gaining weight pretty quickly now. But the good news is, I don’t feel too uncomfortable yet. In a few weeks we have a full day of birthing class/other class at the hospital, plus a tour of the birthing center.

We have started packing up our 2nd bedroom to get ready for Emma’s arrival. We will only be here for about 2 months after she arrives before we move to Missouri, so we won’t be decorating too much, just the essentials for now.

And next week I’ll be ordering some books from myself for baby Emma. I have my open party that has to be closed and I have $240 in free books and $150 in half-priced books to redeem, so I’m excited to stock up before Emma gets here!

Ludwig the Space Dog – A 3D Book! (Video and Links)

Ludwig lives in a book with his friends, and everything in their world is made of paper – including them. Ludwig loves to read about different galaxies and planets; he wants to be an explorer. Then one day, something from another dimension crashes into Ludwig’s life . . . and he may finally get the chance to take off.

Put on the included 3-D glasses and watch the world of Ludwig and his friends – both close to home and far away – come alive.

Ludwig the Space Dog is a magical picture book. Even without the 3-D glasses, the illustrations are rich and layered, bursting with details.

Which of these would your kids like?
